Bishop visits Southern Africa and Kenya, Establishing Many Churches

posted 21 Oct 2012, 10:32 by Admin @Bibleway   [ updated 21 Oct 2012, 10:39 ]

Bishop Williams in the early part of Q4 2012 visited South Africa followed by Kenya. The Mission visits were very productive establishing churches where ever he went. Bishop reported that the trip was a very arduous one and having had to spend hours on the Kenyan roads to get to his final destinations he said that it reminded him of how the Apostle Paul felt on his journey's in Acts risking perils and trouble in a foreign land.

We are greatly thankful that God was with the Apostle Williams on his journeys. He has transformed the lives of Pastors and church leaders, and ministered to many Africans causing a great conversion of souls to the Lord.

The Liaising officer in Kenya, Bishop Designate Martin Barasa reports his appreciation and many thanks for the work done by Apostle Williams in the follow snippets of emails:

First Baptism in the First Week of 2012

posted 10 Jan 2012, 13:40 by Admin @Bibleway   [ updated 10 Jan 2012, 13:50 ]

It was with great joy that the Bibleway church celebrated the baptism of one of our newest members on the 7th day of January 2012.
In the Latter part of last year Sister Sandra had decided that she wanted to be baptised in the saving name of Jesus Christ. She gladly received her wishes when the church took her to the Abbey swimming pool in Cambridge after our Family service and Bishop Williams baptised her after prayers and giving of thanks.

Congratulations Sister Sandra !
You are the first of hopefully many in the year 2012 to continue fulfilling the great promise of Christ in Mark 16v16 "... He that Believes and is Baptised shall be saved..."

Bibleway Gospel Choir again prepares the Mill Road Winter Fair

posted 7 Dec 2011, 15:07 by Admin @Bibleway   [ updated 7 Dec 2011, 15:20 ]

The Bibleway church Gospel choir once again did a great honour in preparing the  opening speeches (including the Mayor's) by singing at the start of the Cambridge Mill Road Winter Fair. The church had sung in this event for the last few years, however this year was in some ways a special and moving one as it commemorated the death of the late Suzy Oakes who had been organising the event for most of the previous years.

It was a privilege for the church choir members to sing the usual Gospel Pentecostal choruses and a few Christmas carols in order to liven up and resound the praises of our Lord Jesus Christ at Ditchburn Gardens, Mill Road.
Special thanks go out to the members of the church in Enfield (Missionary Jackie Baker and Evangelist Hannah Gabriel) who travelled up to Cambridge first thing that Saturday morning to join the choir. Also to Elder David Ogunlana who made the journey to Enfield and back to make sure they arrived safely.

Following the singing and speeches, Elder and Missionary Duncan continued at the fair by conducting a church stall available to the public. Cakes, house items, Christian books, music and other small ornaments were on sale to help fundraising for the Church. They were joined by Bishop Williams who showed his full support throughout the whole of the days activities.

Church gets involved at The Mill Road Winter Fair

posted 8 Dec 2010, 14:39 by Admin @Bibleway   [ updated 17 Dec 2010, 17:23 ]

On Saturday the 4th Dec. the very popular Mill Road Winter Fair had commenced again for the year 2010 at 10am.
The whole event begun with some lively renditions of choruses, songs and Christmas carols from our very own GBC gospel choir. The choir did a marvelous job of preceding and preparing the fair for its grand opening with speeches from the organiser (Suzy Oakes), from the sponsors and from the Mayor of Cambridge.

The choir consists of Mother L. O. Williams (Choir Director), Elder David Ogunlana, Missionary Diana Ogunlana, Elder Alf Duncan, Missionary Kay Duncan, Brother Wallace Williams, with the musicians James Duncan (guitar) and Michael Duncan (keyboard). (Unfortunately a few of the other members were unable to attend this time round).

The choir was also accompanied by Bishop L.A. Williams (Pastor of Cambridge Church and Bishop of the UK Diocese and Overseas Missions) who introduced and closed their activities.

Elder Duncan presented a 15 minute presentation on the subject of the "The greatest gift of all" to help launch the Passion Plinth with the choir.

Missionary Duncan and Michael Duncan also ran a gift and cake stall at the event. Other contributers who supported the stall were Mother Williams, Missionary Ogunlana and Rebecca & Reuben Clover.

We would like to thank the organisers of the event for allowing the church to play a major part at the fair. Special thanks to Suzy Oakes for selecting the choir to launch the event and Beth Harper for selecting a good slot for us at the Passion Plinth.
Most of all, thanks goes to the one who always makes these events possible, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Photos and Videos of the above activities are shown below.
More details and photos of the Mill Road winter fair can be found at their website:

GBC Cambridge fundraises at the Mill Road Lights switch-on

posted 21 Nov 2010, 14:18 by Admin @Bibleway   [ updated 21 Nov 2010, 14:58 ]

The Greater Bibleway Church in Cambridge were at the Mill Road Christmas Lights switch on. A pre-Christmas event held on Saturday 20th November organised by members and organisers of the forthcoming Mill Road Winter Fayre. Members of the church attended the event to help fundraise for the Church.

Elder & Missionary Duncan organised themselves to setup a stall at Gwyder St. car park along with other community and charity organisations. They represented the church at the event selling cakes, flapjacks, christmas puddings, computer games, videos, board games.
In addition there were opportunities for them to hand out leaflets and tracts regarding the church and salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Many thanks goes to Sister Mollie for providing christmas puddings, to Elder Duncan's work friends who provided some cakes for sale, to Missionary and Michael Duncan for preparing cakes and other goodies for the stall, and finally to the Mill Road organisers for providing a free stall for the Church.

A few pictures can be seen below of the preparations for the stall, stalls at Gwyder street and a few evening activities at the event. Enjoy!
